Thanks to qualified craftsmen and to benefit from the commercial exchanges with the Arab world from the nearby Ancona harbor, the quality of the paper from Fabriano went increasing to become a reference. Today, after centuries of tradition and expertise, the brand is known all over the world for producing the highest quality papers for fine art, printmaking and stationery. An early adopter, Leonardo Da Vinci used the Fabriano paper. The Brand is credited with several inventions: the watermark, used as the paper maker signature, the paper sizing with animal gelatin to facilitate the writing and make the paper more archival, or the invention of the hydraulic hammer pile. Fabriano offers today a wide range of handmade and mould made paper, still produced in the city of Fabriano in The Marches Region of central Italy, for any artistic or professional uses. |
