The Mona Lisa was painted on
a wood panel and is in excellent condition four centuries later. Rigid
art supports like panels and strainers protect your art from accidental
damage caused by flexing and cracking of paint films or glue bonds, as
well as protecting your work from being torn or otherwise damaged by
mishandling and accidents.

These art supports provide a firm surface
ideal for painting, mixed media, mounting prints & works on paper,
collage and as a rigid support for art fabrics.

Cradled Panels
We offer Okume Mahagony 4mm thick, 3 ply, thick face, marine grade plywood for facing our panels. This wood is designed for boat
building and is insured by Lloyds of London for $50,000 and is manufactured in France. We consider it the best available. It is
rotary cut which means its a continuous piece with no splices. The marine grade glue is very moisture resistant, and the
mahogany wood is naturally insect resistant and has an open grain that provides a bit of texture to capture the artist's paint.
The substrate, or 'bones' of the panel support are made of kiln dried basswood which is a very lightweight hardwood, lighter
than pine, with no knots or blemishes and has a very straight, true grain which is guaranteed not to warp or twist. Basswood is
also very close to PH neutral which is good from an art conservation stand point.

Each mahogany face painting panel is from rotary cut, endless core
wood, that means it's a continuous piece with no splices. Mahogany is
an open grain, insect resistant wood, that provides a bit of texture to
capture the paint.
Our shellac panels offer outstanding quality. The shellac is sprayed on all sides- front, back, and edges. It creates a
moisture and chemical barrier and is an inexpensive 'insurance policy' for works which the artist hopes to have last for
generations- which is how great art should be made.
Our standard cradled panel thicknesses are:
Thin 7/8" (Series PN), Wraparound 1-7/8" (Series P3), Thick Wraparound 2-5/8" (Series P4)
Available in any dimension, tiny to huge!

Shipping and Handling
We build our own high quality boxes for shipping. The boxes are lightweight, re-usable shipping
containers, made of rigid foam interiors and heavy gauge cardboard exteriors, custom made to exactly fit the contents of
each box.
Our clients use these shipping boxes to ship their finished artwork to galleries, to protect their artwork when in storage, when they themselves move their art to an art
gallery or their client's home or office.
Our system cannot calculate every combination of cost for S/H. For example, we offer to ship two panels for the price of one for most panels.
If you want to benefit from this, please contact us we will adjust your cart.
Large panels and stretcher bars are custom made to order - please allow ten business days before shipping.
